Banana Chips

Banana is the common name for herbaceous plants of the genus Musa and for the fruit they produce.

For the production of banana chips, the Saba and Cardava variety (Musa sapientum) are used. The vast majority of banana chips originate from the Philippines. Fresh bananas are picked in their mature green stage and then peeled, washed,

sliced and fried in vegetable oil to produce banana chips. Banana chips’ colour ranges from light to golden yellow and their flavour is sweet and mild. They are mainly consumed as a snack and as an ingredient in cereal mixes and granolas.=

Banana chips are an excellent source manganese, an essential antioxidant. One serving of banana chips provides 66% of the recommended daily value of this mineral. They also contain other minerals such as potassium, iron, copper and magnesium and are high in fibre.

Banana chips are offered in all sizes, grades, cuts (whole slices, quarters or pieces) and flavours (e.g. honey dipped, sugared, etc.). We can also supply tailor made chips according to client’s specifications.
